The purpose of the activity of the Centre of Scientific & Technical and Economical information of Sumy State University is organizational and methodical support at the university-wide level for the process of intellectual property rights protection, technology transfer, accounting and monitoring of the publishing activity of the University employees, support of scientific publications of the University and scientific, scientific-methodological and other activities direction (conferences, seminars, etc.)

− organization and methodical support of the process of protecting intellectual property rights at the University;
- ensuring the acquisition and transfer by the University of property rights to objects of intellectual property rights (drafting of license agreements, agreements on the transfer of property rights of authors of intellectual property objects, etc.);
− consultations of University employees and students of higher education on the protection of intellectual property rights;
- provision of information and analytical services for the protection of intellectual property rights and patent research on the order of legal and physical entities
persons;
- forming a database and keeping a register of received security documents submitted on behalf of Sumy State University;
- filling and updating information on the website of the CSTEI according to the direction of the department's work;

- informing about current scientific and technical developments and scientific services of the University in national and international technology transfer networks, other electronic resources and mass media, etc.;
– monitoring and accounting of the market of potential customers for scientific and technical developments;
– implementation of measures for the implementation of objects of intellectual property rights through the sale of licenses;
- organizational support of advertising and exhibition activities;
– provision of paid information and analytical services in the field of technology transfer to third-party customers;
– support and content of the website of scientific developments and services (innovation.sumdu.edu.ua);

– analysis of indicators of publication activity, including in publications indexed by the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection, preparation of proposals for the organization of relevant work in structural divisions and stimulation of publication activity of University scientists in rating journals;
- formation and maintenance of databases of publications by representatives of Sumy State University in publications indexed by scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection, a list of authors who have publications in these publications, etc.;
- accounting and analysis of rating and reporting indicators of the University as a whole and its structural subdivisions, preparation and compilation of reports;
- organization of work on raising the level of scientific publications of the University for their inclusion in international scientometric and reference databases;
- organization of work on preparation, conducting, raising the level of scientific events at the University;
